Claude Pricing in Canada: Every Plan in USD and CAD (October 2026)

Claude pricing in Canada follows Anthropic's US-dollar price list: Claude Pro is US$20 a month, which is about CA$28.54 before tax at the Bank of Canada rate for October 9, 2026. Every plan below is shown in both currencies so you can budget properly.

We converted each price at the Bank of Canada's daily average rate of 1.4271 Canadian dollars per US dollar, published for October 9, 2026, and checked the US prices against Anthropic's pricing page and help centre on October 10, 2026. The CAD figures are estimates. What you actually pay depends on the currency Anthropic bills you in, your card's exchange rate and fees, and sales tax.

Key Takeaway

Quick rule of thumb at this rate: multiply any US price by about 1.43 to get Canadian dollars, then add sales tax for your province.

  • Premium seat: US$100 per person per month billed annually (about CA$142.71), or US$125 billed monthly (about CA$178.39), with five times the usage of a standard seat.

Claude Enterprise

  • Seat fee: US$20 per seat per month, billed annually (about CA$28.54 a month, or CA$342.50 a year per seat).
  • Usage: billed separately at API rates, so there is no fixed per-person total. Minimum 20 seats self-serve, 50 sales-assisted.

If you build on the Claude API directly, you pay per token with no subscription. Rates vary by model and change more often than the plans, so check Anthropic's pricing page for current figures.

Does Anthropic bill in Canadian dollars?

Anthropic publishes its prices in US dollars. Its help centre says pricing, currency, and tax handling vary by region, and points you to the upgrade page in your account to see the price for your location. Check the checkout screen before assuming either currency.

For Enterprise, the help centre is specific: self-serve plans are billed in US dollars only, while sales-assisted plans, which start at 50 seats, can be billed in other currencies. If you are charged in US dollars on a Canadian credit card, you pay your card issuer's exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee, not the Bank of Canada rate.

Sales tax on Claude in Canada

Anthropic's listed prices exclude tax, and its help centre says your billing address determines your tax jurisdiction. Depending on your province and Anthropic's registrations, that can mean:

  • GST at 5% in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and the territories
  • HST at 13% in Ontario, 14% in Nova Scotia, and 15% in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island
  • Provincial sales tax such as BC PST or Quebec QST, depending on the province and how the supplier is registered

For example, if HST is charged in Ontario, a Pro subscription at about CA$28.54 becomes about CA$32.25 a month.

If your business is registered for GST/HST, Anthropic lets Pro and Max subscribers add a tax ID in billing settings, and the change applies only to future charges. Whether you can claim input tax credits, or need to self-assess, depends on your situation, so ask your accountant. This is general information, not tax advice.

What the Claude Team plan costs in Canada

Here is what a few typical setups would cost before tax, at the October 9, 2026 rate:

  • 5 people, standard seats, annual billing: US$100 a month, about CA$142.71, or about CA$1,712.52 a year.
  • 10 people, 8 standard and 2 premium seats, annual billing: US$360 a month, about CA$513.76, or about CA$6,165.07 a year.
  • The same 10 people on monthly billing: US$450 a month, about CA$642.20.
  • 20 people on self-serve Enterprise: at least US$4,800 a year in seat fees, about CA$6,850.08, before any usage.

Monthly Team billing costs 25% more for the same seats, but it lets you change seat counts as you learn. A sensible pattern is to pilot on monthly billing and switch to annual once usage settles.

How to pick a plan

  • Just you: Pro, moving to Max only if you regularly hit your limits.
  • 2 to 150 people who need shared admin and billing: Claude Team. Our Claude Team vs Enterprise comparison covers the details.
  • Need SCIM, audit logs, custom data retention, or more than 150 seats: Claude Enterprise.
  • Building Claude into your own product or workflows: the API, billed per token.

Tips to keep Claude costs down

  • Mix seat types. Give premium Team seats only to people who actually hit standard limits.
  • Pilot on monthly billing. Lock in annual pricing after you know your real seat count.
  • Review seats every quarter. Remove people who stopped using Claude. On self-serve Enterprise, seats cannot be removed mid-term, so size carefully.
  • Set spend limits on Enterprise. Use organization and per-person limits from day one.
  • Match the model to the task. On usage-based plans and the API, lighter models cost less per token for routine work.
  • Budget for exchange rates. If you are billed in US dollars, add a buffer to any Canadian-dollar budget, because the rate moves.
